Bone Marrow Transplant patients need a place to stay that is economical, hygienic and close enough to the hospital for their long follow-up. The cost of this accommodation and food is very high in places relatively close to the Hospital. Patients often have to travel long distances in a physically weak condition twice a week to come for their follow-up treatment, and this in turn makes them weaker than they already are.
The Plan
To provide a place where they can stay close to the hospital, so that they can recover faster and at a much more affordable cost:
Bridge House Project is aimed at providing accommodation to both affluent and poor BMT patients in the vicinity of the new Haematology facility of Christian Medical College Hospital, in Kannigapuram.
